A. Patricia Gray, 97, of Marietta, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at The Pines at Glenwood in Marietta. She was born on June 20, 1919 in Weston, Ontario, Canada to Hamilton Kennedy Gray and Vesta Deming Mellor Gray. Pat moved to Marietta with her family in 1924. She graduated from Marietta College in 1941, with a BA in Geology, Mathematics, and English. Pat retired in 1984 as a Program Consultant for the Ohio Lung Association. She was a member the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Marietta and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority at Marietta College. Pat was survived by great nieces, Pamela Waldorf of Dacula, Georgia and Camilla Tabeling of Knoxville, TN; great nephew Christopher Bennett of Centerville, Ohio; adopted nieces Carol Morgenstern of Little Hocking, Ohio, and Rebecca Phillips of Marietta; and eight great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Bennett and Sara Hock, and her nephew, William Bennett. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, with The Rev. Linda N. Steelman officiating. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
