Bobby Lee Perry, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on May 6, 1958, in Richwood, West Virginia, Bobby was a cherished resident of Marietta, Ohio, where he lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
Bobby was a graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He was employed as a dedicated steelworker at LTV Steel, where he was known for his hard work and camaraderie with his colleagues. Outside of work, Bobby had a passion for NASCAR, classic cars, and country music, especially the classics. He was an avid fan of his grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed watching "Gunsmoke" in his leisure time. Above all, Bobby cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Bobby Lee Perry will be remembered for his warm heart, his love for family, and helping others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bobby is survived by his loving devoted wife of over 50 years, Mary Ann Perry, whom he married on December 22, 1975. He leaves behind his two loving children, Shannon Perry and Melissa Doan (Jamie), and his cherished grandchildren, Caleigh Plaugher (Wesley), Dana Perry (Brayden Meeks), and Clayton Perry. Bobby was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Emberly and Brodie Plaugher, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Belle Perry, whom he cared for and loved dearly, his sisters-in-law, Thresia Pratt and Lisa Catron (Eric), his brother-in-law, Jason Black (Amiee Conway), and numerous loving cousins, nephews, and nieces, his supportive neighbors, Robbie and Diane Robinson and his good friend Joey Porter (Sue).
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Ray Frederick Perry, his father-in-law, Rev. Howard Black, his mother-in-law, Bessie Black, and his brother-in-law, Rev. David Pratt.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bobby's life at a funeral service that will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 am at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME in Marietta, Ohio, followed by a graveside service in Rainbow Cemetery in Lowell, Ohio. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
