Charles Stephen "Steve" Schlicher, 69, of Marietta, died Friday, December 9, 2016, in Newark, Ohio. He was born on December 19, 1946 in Marietta, to the late Charles Bernard and Mary Margaret Schaad Schlicher. Steve is a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School in 1965, and was in the Army National Guard in Ohio and West Virginia for almost 29 years. He worked for Kardex for many years, until its closing. Steve was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, the American Legion, Post #64, and Borderline Hogs. He also was an avid woodworker and loved riding his Hog. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Leasure Schlicher, whom he married on July, 19, 2002; four children, Bonnie Rollins (Jeff) of Roundhill, VA, Kevin Schlicher (Shannon) of Huntersville, NC, Amanda Kitchen (Neil) of Parkersburg, WV, and Joe Schlicher of Concord, NC; two step children, Kylee Baker of Marietta and Seth Baker (Hannah) of Homer, AK; 19 grandchildren; two brothers, Dave Schlicher of Marietta and George Schlicher (Peggy) of Marietta; two sisters, Donna Beebe (Randy) of Marietta and Kathy Moyer (Jeff) of Barlow, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with The Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery in Marietta. Visitation will be on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
