Dale Franklin McGrew, 71, of Marietta, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Marietta Center. He was born on May 3, 1945 in Bellaire, Ohio to Myron Alfred and Hazel Mae Tyrell McGrew. Dale graduated from Marietta High School and worked for the Asbestos Abatement Union until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, music and was an avid Ohio State football fan. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Deems (Michael) of Marietta; three grandchildren, Lexie Johnson, and Jade and Gage Deems; three siblings, Kathy Roser (Dan), Myra Wright and Nancy Dionne (Paul), all of Marietta; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael McGrew; and Judy Carpenter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to Gospel Food Pantry, 309 Lancaster Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750.
