Dean William Welsch

October 16, 1930 — July 23, 2017

Dean William Welsch, 86, of Lowell, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 in Belpre. Born October 16, 1930 in Marietta, Ohio, he was the son of the late William and Bertha Pabst Welsch.

Dean was a 1948 graduate of Lowell High School. He had retired from Globe Metalurgical in 1986. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Church. Dean also was a farmer and enjoyed working in the garden.

On June 8, 1957 he married Alyce Spung, who survives with three children, Mary Ann Callihan (Myron) of Reno, David Welsch (Cassie) of Belpre and Paul Welsch (Teresa) of Davisville, WV; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Hart officiating. Burial will be at Salem Township Cemetery. Dean's family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Tuesday.
