Donald Aldege Duquette, Jr., 57, of Marietta, Ohio, died on Monday, December 1, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1968, in Melrose, Massachusetts to Donald Aldege Duquette, Sr. and Sandra Kay Sidinger Duquette.
Donn was a 1985 graduate of Marietta High School and graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems. He worked at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (formerly Public Debt) for 18 years, where he retired from this year. He previously worked at Marietta Industrial Enterprises, The Airolite Company, and Connex Pipe Systems (formerly Dravo). Donn enjoyed genealogy and spending time with family and friends. Back in the day, he and Nancy loved entertaining family and friends, and were known for throwing amazing Halloween parties.
He is survived by his son, Thomas S. Duquette (Sophie Westbrock); brother, Douglas E. Duquette (Arlene Knight); his uncle and aunt, Edward C. Sidinger, III (Terrie); mother-in-law, Marilynn Peoples Scharff; brothers and sisters-in law, Steve Scharff (Rodney Barlow), Kathy Patalano (Kevin), Brian Scharff (Holly) and Kelly Blaski (Rick); many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and his furry companions, Dex and Buster.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his longtime companion and best friend, Nancy Scharff Duquette, his maternal grandmother, Erma Vera Sidinger, and his paternal grandparents, Omer and Orise Duquette.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOMES, with Patricia Peoples officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
