Dora Marie Weppler, 82, of Whipple died Monday, December 5, 2011, at Cleveland Clinic with her family at her side. She was born to the late John and Bertha Biehl Gerken on May 7, 1929 in Marietta. On October 24, 1948, she married Harold Edward Weppler, who survives. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in 2011. Also surviving are three sons, Gary (Bev) of Whipple, Lynn (Christine) of Marietta, Randy (Cindy) of Bethany, WV, one daughter, Dee (Tag) Wetz of Marietta, nine grandchildren, Sherry (Tim) Wittekind, Michele (Gene) Paxton, Andrea (Bryan) Nichols, Evan (Tara) Wetz, Jason (Abby) Weppler, Scott (Melissa ) Weppler, Derrick Wetz, Lee (Kristin) Weppler, Lauren (Dan) Geissler, ten great grandchildren, one brother, Dale Gerken, and sister-in-law, Juanita Hinkle. Dora was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Hayward Gerken and two sisters, Edith Whetstone and Nora Rutter. Dora had retired from B.F. Goodrich after 34 years. She loved socializing with friends and family. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #64, the VFW Auxiliary #5108, Precious Moments Red Hat Society and the Good Sam Camping Club. She was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Church where she was a past deacon. Abiding with her wishes, she was cremated and a memorial will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Friday, December 16, 2011, with her family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The family requests donations to Fearing Township Fire Dept., c/o Jeff Lauer, treasurer, 1975 Stanleyville Rd., Whipple, OH 45788, or to the Marietta Community Foundation, P.O.
