Edward A. Morbitzer, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather and friend left this earth on October 1, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born October 23, 1936, in Columbus, Ohio to Edward A. Morbitzer, Sr. and Abigail Freck Morbitzer as the oldest of six kids.
He was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Columbus after which he started his travels by joining the Marines, stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of his service to the USA, he returned to Columbus to complete his Bachelor’s Degree from Franklin University while progressing in his career with Western Electric Company. Around this time, he met the love of his life, Barbara Heckler Morbitzer of Marietta Ohio and they welcomed three kids, Edward C., Nancy and Andrew in Columbus. Together, the family moved around the country as he was transferred with Western Electric, ending up in Rockwall Texas until he retired. After this time, he moved back to Marietta Ohio with his wife to be near Charles K. Heckler. While living in Marietta they made many great friends and enjoyed traveling all around the U.S.A. with mom serving as his faithful navigator until her death in 2008. Dad moved back to Texas to live near his oldest son Ed and daughter Nancy and her daughters Andrea & Jessica. While living in Texas he traveled frequently to California to spend time with his youngest son Andrew, wife Megan and two grandsons, Ashton & Breckin. He leaves behind his kids, grandkids, two sisters, nieces & nephews and cousin June Arnold (son Mike) to cherish his memory. He now joins his parents, sister, two brothers, nephew, brothers-in-law and his faithful navigator, Barbara, her parents and siblings in eternal peace-traveling the heavens.
