Eileen Beebe

February 9, 1926 — September 9, 2017

E. Eileen Beebe, 91, reunited in Heaven, September 9, 2017, with her husband, Kenneth L. Beebe, her son, Ron Beebe, her grandson, Will Beebe, her parents, Lawrence Olson and Grace Rankin Olson, her brothers Lawrence Olson, Jr. and Gerald Olson and her nephew, Lawrence Olson,III.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Jim) Johnston, Ashley, Ohio, and son, Gary (Rose) Beebe, Marietta, Ohio.

She was blessed to be the grandmother of Shelly (Bryce) Richard, of Sofia, Bulgaria; Jennifer (Mike) Walpole, Sunbury, Ohio; Luke (Courtney) Beebe, Carmichaels, PA.; Jessica (Jeremy) DeLano, Freeport, PA.; Zach Beebe, Columbus, Ohio, and Vincent Beebe, Columbus, Ohio.

And then she was given the privilege to be the Great Grandmother to Macy, Henry, Andrew, Oliver and Spencer Richard; Rohan and Landry Walpole; James, Dean and Penelope Beebe; and Carson and Ella DeLano. She was also the aunt to several wonderful nieces and nephews.

Along with loving and caring for her family all her life, she served her community as a school nurse in the Marietta Schools for 22 years. She developed many meaningful relationships with her students in the Future Nurses Club.

Eileen enrolled in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps in 1944. She was ready to serve her country if needed. This enabled her to receive her R.N. from Grant Hospital School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. In her early years she worked in various hospitals in Ohio.

Later in life, she and Kenny enjoyed an adventure in houseboat living for six months. They also had a memorable time living in Little River, S.C. for five years. They enjoyed the company of her brother "Pete" and his wife Jane.

Eileen was thankful for her special friends, Barb Pape, Karen Yonaley, Bonnie Close, Rhonda Huck and Joyce Orders. She appreciated the wonderful care the last week of her life from her team from Marietta Hospice and especially from her devoted daughter- in-law, Rose Beebe.

Her special canine companion, Nita, was her most constant friend the last four years.

Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Visitation will be at the funeral home, on Saturday from 10:30 to noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, 90 Mt. Tom Rd., Marietta, Ohio 45750.
