Eleanor "Ellie" June Finnie, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of the Marietta community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on November 3, 1936, in Warren, Ohio Ellie lived a life full of love, dedication, and grace.

A resident of Marietta, Ohio, Ellie was a nurturing homemaker who found joy in taking care of her family. She was a loving mother to her son, Don Wargo, who resides in Marietta, OH. Ellie's home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aromas of her cooking. Her passion for cooking and catering was well-known, and she delighted in sharing her culinary creations with friends and family. In her younger years, Ellie enjoyed dancing, a pastime that brought her much joy and fond memories. She also had a keen eye for decorating, transforming her home into a welcoming haven for all who visited.

Ellie was a faithful member of St. John's Orthodox Church in Warren, Ohio, where she found spiritual fulfillment and a sense of community. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family, friends, and community.

Ellie was the devoted daughter of the late Daniel and Anna Skovran Long. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Barr Finnie, with whom she shared many wonderful years. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and community.

She is survived by her son, Donald R. Wargo; her grandson, Donald D. Wargo; her sisters, Patty Borrelli and Vera Klavzar; her cousin, Sylvia Solarz; and her best friends Elizabeth and Robert Balson.

A private graveside service will be held at New St. Mary's Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio with Father Johnson officiating, where Ellie will be laid to rest.
