Elizabeth Jane Diehl

Elizabeth Jane Diehl, 73, of Marietta, died June 29, 2014 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born November 4, 1940 in Marietta to Everett and Helen Moore Thompson. She was a 1958 graduate of Marietta High School and enjoyed time spent with her family, grandchildren and many close friends. Jane had worked for Moore's Lumber, Contractor Building Supply, and Tropic Heating & Air and had served as secretary/treasurer of the Home Builders Association for over 30 years. She had remained active in Class of '58 activities. She had attended HarborSite Baptist Church in Marietta. Jane is survived by daughters, Christi Love (Bill), of Athens and Diana Stalnaker of Vincent and son, Jeff Diehl (Bob Hill) of Marietta, grandchildren, Christopher Love, Brooke and Coty Stalnaker, great grandchildren, Keenyn and Kentley. Also surviving is the father of Diana and Jeff, James Louie Diehl, of Marietta. She was preceded in death by her parents and Christi's father, Charles Durham, Jr. Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014, with Pastor Don Arbuckle officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.
