Howard James Dutton

Howard James Dutton, 84, of Lowell, Ohio, died on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 2, 1940, in Macksburg, Ohio to Kathryn Howard Yost and James Dutton.

Howard graduated from Dexter City High School in 1958. He worked for BF Goodrich for 41 years, retiring in 2002, and was a carpenter. He loved playing the guitar, and played for the residents of various nursing homes for years, playing with Sherri and Phil Neil.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Sue "Susie" Moseley Dutton, whom he married on April 5, 1959; one son, Robert Dutton (Tami); two grandchildren, Chelsie and Cole Dutton (Trina); four great grandchildren, Caiden, Brody, Marlee and Sawyer; siblings, Sandy Davis, Bonnie Hall (Joe), Karen Castonguay (Maurice), Susie Yost, Randy Yost, Cora Marshall (Gary) and Cindy Kinnen; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, James Dutton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the LOWELL CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME, with The Rev. Don Archer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell. Family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
