Jack David Dye, 83, of Marietta, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 2, 1928 in Marietta to Frank and Clara Ludtman Dye. Jack was a 1947 graduate of Marietta High School. He retired from BF Goodrich in 1988, following 39 years of employment. He was a lifelong member of Central Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon, was a member of Harmar Masonic Lodge #390, F&AM. He loved his cat, Miss Whipkey, and enjoyed her so much. Jack is survived by his wife, Laverne Jones Dye, three sons, Michael (Joyce) of Huntsville, AL, Steve (Karen) and Jeff (Missy), all of Marietta, two step grandchildren, Abby Hearn of Morgantown, WV and Brittany Hearn of Marietta, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Janice E. Hill officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday for one hour prior to his service. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to Central Christian Church, 807 Colegate Dr., Marietta, OH 45750.
