James Howard "Jim" Pritchett, 79, of Marietta, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his residence. He was born August 10, 1933 in Vincent to Clarence and Emma Golda "Goldie" Thomas Pritchett. Jim was a graduate of Vincent High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a pressman at The Marietta Times, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Sixth & Washington Streets Church of Christ. Jim was also a member of the VFW Post #5108 and American Legion Post #64 in Marietta. He loved gardening, fishing, his grandchildren and his beloved dog, Frankie. Jim is survived by a son, Kevin Pritchett (Debbie) of Marietta, two daughters, Cheryl Mercer (Billy) of Vincent and Karla Leach (Dave) of Marietta, nine grandchildren, Bryon Pritchett (Jarrah Huck), Amanda and Danielle Danielson, Courtney Sulfridge (Lane), Katlyn Mercer, Kris and Brandi Scott, Shaina Colvin (Tyler) and Jaron Leach, three great grandsons, Brycen Pritchett, Andy and Matt Scott, a sister, Shelby Boyer (Larry) of Fleming, a brother, Freeman Pritchett of St. Petersburg, FL, a daughter in law, Gracie Pritchett of Marietta and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Madora Hopkins Pritchett on May 6, 2005, they were married on June 28, 1951, also preceded by a son, Denny, and two brothers, Randall Pritchett and Charles Hill. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Sixth & Washington Streets Church of Christ, with Roger Rush officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park, with full military honors.
