Joanna Arlene Edgell

Joanna Arlene Edgell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on April 22nd, 1952, in Athens, Ohio.

Joanna was a 1970 graduate of Marietta High School. She dedicated her professional life to Marietta Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a surgery scheduler until her retirement.

Joanna enjoyed spending her free time bowling and playing bingo with her twin sister, they spent a lot of time together.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Edgell; her grandchildren, Reva and Michael Edwards; and her great-grandchildren, Harley and Bentley. Joanna also leaves behind her brother, CJ Verity and his wife Angie, her twin sister, Joan Simmons, and several nieces and nephews.

Joanna was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Calendine and Illa Blackford Calendine, her beloved husband, Herbert "Sonny" George Edgell Jr., and her brother, Gary Calendine.

Abiding with her wishes, she will be cremated and graveside services will be held at a later time.
