Joseph "Joe" Richard Veraldo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, died from a fatal heart attack on Sunday, July 27, 2025, just days shy of his 77th birthday. He was born on August 1, 1948, in Pearl River, NY, to Robert and Rita Murphy Veraldo. Joe was a cherished resident of Marietta, OH, where he lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
Joe was a graduate of Pascack Valley High School in Rivervale, NJ, in the Class of 1966. Following his enrollment at Marietta College, he met the love of life and his future wife, Linda, he adopted Marietta as his life long home. He went on to work at Morrison Inc. prior to his employment at Shell Chemical where he retired. Outside of work, Joe was a devoted member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. He had a passion for street rods and motorcycles, spending countless hours building, repairing, and riding them. Joe was always ready to help others and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His loving spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 58 years, Linda Baker Veraldo, whom he married on October 21, 1967. Together, they built a beautiful family and life in Marietta. He is also survived by his loving children, daughter Keleigh Veraldo-Zucchero (Shawn) of Kent, OH, and son Michael Veraldo (Cynthia Miller) of Cincinnati, OH. Joe was a proud grandfather to Caroline Veraldo, Cameron Zucchero, and Keegan Veraldo, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Regina, Dan, and Kate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, his brother Matthew Veraldo, and his brother-in-law Michael King.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Betsey Mills Club in Marietta, OH to honor Joe's remarkable life and legacy. In honor of Joe's love for animals, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, located at 90 Mt. Tom Rd, Marietta, OH 45750. Monetary donations and Purina Pet Food are greatly appreciated in Joe's memory.
