Lawrence R. Weinheimer, 92, of Marietta, died Thursday, November 10, 2011, at his home. He was born March 5, 1919, in Marietta, to August and Marie Oesterle Weinheimer. Lawrence graduated from Marietta High School and served in the armed services during WWII. He was a farmer in Oak Grove all his life and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the American Legion, Post 64, and the Washington County Landmark. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Regina Tornes Weinheimer, whom he married on February 4, 1947; one sister, Eloise Burkhart of Marietta; one son, John Weinheimer (Marty) of Grove City, Ohio; two daughters, Jane Miller (Roger) and Donna Moore (Vaughn), both of Marietta; four grandchildren, Douglas Miller (Kathy) of Reedsville, Ohio, David Miller (Sarah) of Galloway, Ohio, Brynn Searles (Tom) of Westfield, Indiana, and Jason Moore (Beth-Anne) of Marietta; three great-grandchildren, Lucas and Jackson Moore, and Grace Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Moore. Funeral Liturgy with mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with The Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell celebrating. Burial will follow in New St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, form 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. There will be a Vigil Service at 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Mary Catholic Church, 506 Fourth Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750.
