Mabel Irene Hackathorn

Mabel Irene Hackathorn, 94, of Marietta, died Friday, December 23, 2011 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 1, 1917 in Archers Fork to Clem and Jane Patterson Binegar. In her earlier years she worked at J. C. Pennys and dress shops. Mabel married Hilles E. Hackathorn on August 14, 1944. She was a member of the Church of Christ at 6th and Washington Streets. Mabel is survived by one son, Ken E. Hackathorn (Paula) of Marietta; two granddaughters, Ellerie and Tiffany Hackathorn of Seattle, Washington; one step grandson, Nick Grimes of Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Frances and Audrey Binegar; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on July 28, 1980, and four brothers, Ralph, Roscoe, Forest and Gerald Binegar. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Sixth and Washington Streets Church of Christ, with Roger Rush and Randy Baker officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery.
