Marilyn Melick Green 84, of Marietta, Ohio and the Glenwood Community, passed away peacefully on Friday June 6, 2025 at the age of 84. She was born April 7, 1941 in Morristown, NJ to George Raymond Melick and Edna Schumacher Melick.
Marilyn was a proud graduate of Marietta College, graduating in 1964 with a bachelors of science degree. It was at Marietta College she became an active member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and would meet the love of her life, Hudson. Together they built a life of love and friendship and celebrated 59 years of marriage before Hudson passed in 2023. They made friends everywhere having lived in 7 states before retiring to Spartanburg, SC in 2006. Avid golfers, they enjoyed being members of Saucon Valley Country Club, Bethlehem PA, Walnut Grove Country Club, Dayton, OH and Marietta Country Club.
Marilyn spent her last 3 years at the Glenwood Community where she never missed bingo, cards, crafts or happy hour. Please raise a glass of Chardonnay in her honor.
She is survived by two children, Deborah Roberts (Rocky) of Marietta, and Hudson Shaw Green Jr. (Terri) of Gilbertsville, PA; and four grandchildren, Kristen Green (Michael Powers) of Hockessin, DE, Joseph Roberts of Salt Lake City UT, Kyle Green of Gilbertsville PA, Erica Roberts of Columbus OH; brother Ken Melick of Lancaster, CA and two nieces Kristen Williamson of Lancaster, CA, and Katie Melick of Copenhagen Denmark.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Hudson Shaw Green whom she married on February 22, 1964.

Abiding with her wishes, Marilyn will be cremated and a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Marietta College Office of Advancement, 215 Fifth St, Marietta OH 45750 with checks payable to Marietta College and reference the “Hudson and Marilyn Green Scholarship Fund” in the memo line.
