Marjorie Jean Worthington, 89, of Lowell, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017, in Marietta. She was born in Marietta on December 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Walter G. and Blanche Martha Bartmess Worthington. Marjorie lived in the Lowell community her entire life. She had worked as a telephone operator and worked in agriculture and farm marketing most of her life. Since childhood, Marjorie had a great love for gardening, and also enjoyed music and crafts. She is survived by three nephews, Walter W. (Debbie) Worthington, Jr., Kevin L. (Beth) Worthington, and Nathan H. (Cindy) Worthington, all of Lowell; great nieces and nephews, Staci (Paul) Ritchie of Marietta, Kristi (Matt) Starkey of Cutler, Darrin (Megan) Worthington of Arlington Heights, IL, Rachel (Scott) Burnham of Lowell, Daniel (Lacey) Worthington of Lowell, Jenny Worthington (fianc, Michael Paulus), Ross Worthington, and Ty Worthington, all of Lowell; great-great nephew and nieces, Cody Zimmer, Madison Starkey, Grace, Claire and Molly Worthington; step-great nephews, Jason Vanclief and Colin Starkey; and several beloved cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Ann Worthington, brother, W. Wayne Worthington, sister in law, Selma Worthington and great nephew, Adam Worthington. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with The Rev. Darla Schneeg officiating.
