Mary Francis Henry

Mary Francis Henry, a beloved resident of Williamstown, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on February 14, 1928, in Gip, West Virginia, to Robert and Sadie Knotts Arnold.

A graduate of Calhoun County High School, Class of 1946, Mary went on to work as a bookkeeper at Vienna Pharmacy for many years, where she was known for her meticulous attention to detail and warm demeanor. Her commitment to her work and her community was unwavering.

Mary attended Sandhill United Methodist Church in Boaz, WV, where she found spiritual fulfillment and lifelong friendships. She was also involved with the O'Neil Center where she enjoyed spending time with friends and participating in various activities. One of her greatest passions was sailing on sailboats, a hobby that brought her immense joy and peace. She and her husband, George, sailed much of Seneca Lake during their adventures. She will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to her family and community, and her zest for life. She touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her nephew, Dewayne Parsons and her nieces, Jane Whittington and Susan Jaye. She also leaves behind her cherished great nieces and nephews, Jill Parsons, Andy Parsons, Jody Johnson, Chelsea Jaye, and Anna Jaye, who will all miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, George Davidson Henry, whom she married on August 17, 1952. Together, they shared many wonderful years until his passing. Mary was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Evelyn Parsons and Anna Lee Lowe, and her niece, June Anne Aquino.

A funeral service will take place at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOMES in Marietta, Ohio at 2:00 p.m. on on Saturday, April 4, 2026, with Pastor Chris Duckworth and Cal Malcom officiating with a graveside service to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, WV. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life at the funeral home with a visitation that will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
