Mary La Rae Hill

Mary La Rae Hill, 88, of Williamstown, WV, died Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Brookdale of Marietta. She was born on April 6, 1929 in Hollidays Cove, WV, to Harry Jay and Irene Cooper Oden.
Mary was a 1947 graduate of Williamstown High School. She worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company for almost 35 years, retiring in 1981. Mary was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church, Williamstown Woman's Club, Washington County Historical Society, the Williamstown Dulcimer Club and Mar Club, Telephone Pioneers.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Edwin Hill, whom she married on May 12, 1951; sister, Alyce G. Stoops of Columbus, Ohio; niece, Alyce L. Stoops of Columbus; nephew, Joseph Stoops (Kathy) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; great nieces, Jennifer and Julianne; and many great friends, including Larry and Pam Hopkins.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Robert Feathers, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
