Mary L. (Reynolds) Hinton, a longtime resident of Lowell, Ohio, went to be with the lord on September 20, 2025. She was born on September 15 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Milo and Amanda Stauch Reynolds.

Mary was a graduate of Marietta High School in the class of 1956. She was a member of the Lowell United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 750 Auxiliary, the Marietta Garden Club, Past Presidents Parley, 8/40 Salon #513, the Lowell Octoberfest Committee, and served her faith community as a Sunday and Bible school teacher. Mary was a wonderful cook and baker, especially ham loaf and apple dumplings. She was a homemaker was a loving mother to her family. She enjoyed traveling and loved to work in her flower gardens.

She is survived by her son Michael (Jody) Hinton; daughter Lisa (Jason) Ryan; three granddaughters, Kara (Dustin) Myers, Kelcey (Dean) Sachs, and Haley (Jacob) Arnold; two grandsons, Evan (Ashley) Ryan and Kyle (Kayla) Ryan; and two great grandchildren, Lane Sachs and Isla Myers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, John “Bill” Hinton; her parents; an infant daughter, Deborah Kaye Hinton; son James Allan Hinton; brother Marion Reynolds; and sisters Frances Selander, Evelyn Finder, Betty Weeks, Virginia Schwendeman, and Patty Poling.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brookdale Senior Living and Genesis Hospice for their care, comfort and compassion they provided for Mary.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the LOWELL CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME in Lowell, Ohio at 12:00 pm with Rev. Don Archer officiating with a graveside service to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, Ohio. Visitation will take place at the funeral home for two hours prior to the funeral service.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Lowell United Methodist Church, 323 Fourth Street Lowell, Ohio 45744, and the L – A Fire and Rescue Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 406, Lowell, Ohio 45744.
