Mary Louise Rettig, 88, of Marietta, died Thursday, August 2, 2012, at her residence. She was born January 23, 1924 in Ottawa Lake, MI to William and Rose Hicker Berry. She was a graduate of Blissfield High School in Michigan. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Marietta and a former member of the Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg. Mary enjoyed playing Bridge, gardening, and reading. She is survived by three children, Rebecca (Neal) Alvanos of Jupiter, FL, John (Joska) Rettig of Portland, OR and Laurie Weibel of Guysville; six grandchildren, Bethany (Chad) Wright of Orlando, FL, Sara Weibel of Canfield, OH, Viktoria Dijakovic of Geneva, Switzerland, Kimberly Alvanos of Orlando, Ben Weibel of Athens and Esther Weibel of Athens; one great grandson, Cade Wright, of Orlando; and a nephew, Richard Berry, of Lansing, MI. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Rettig, on September 16, 2011, a son in law, Chris Weibel, two brothers, Raymond and Donald Berry, two sisters, Mildred Berry and Dorothy Seegert and a nephew, Donald Berry. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 401 Scammel St., Marietta, with the Rev. Steven M. Mahaffey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. up until time of the service at the church. Donations may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
