Nelson Eugene Augenstein

Nelson Eugene Augenstein, 67, of Lowell, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born May 22, 1948 in Marietta to Herbert L. and Mary Delta Moore Augenstein. Nelson was a 1966 graduate of Fort Frye High School and a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He had currently been working in maintenance at Pioneer Pipe and prior to that had been a meat cutter for Colegate Food Center. He was a member of Lowell American Legion #750, VFW #5108 and Plumbers and Pipefitters #168. Nelson is survived by his wife, Janet Heiss Augenstein, son, Chad, grandson, Caleb and two brothers, Ken and John Prunty. He was preceded in death by his parents and two half brothers. Abiding with Nelson's wishes, he will be cremated. There will be no services at this time. Burial of his ashes will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
