Norma Jeanette Thieman, 89, of Waterford, OH passed away on December 18, 2025. She was born on October 11, 1936 to the late Howard and Edna Christy Dyar.
She was a graduate of Lowell High School in 1954 and she later found work as a cashier at Harts and Big Bear. Norma was a devout member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church and the church’s Catholic Women’s Club. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, and spending time with her family.
Norma is survived by six daughters; Cynthia Putnam (Billy), Lorinda Thieman (Kenny Hess), Melissa Thieman, Julie Marston (Paul), Celeste Thieman, Kristin Thieman, four grandchildren; Eric Hooper (Victoria), Cory Hooper (Charista Sampson), Bennett and Claire Marston, five great grandchildren; Hoyt, Kimberlyn, Loxley, Magnolia, and Estes Hooper, three brothers; Gerald Dyar (Virginia), Ronald Dyar (Wanda), and Ralph Dyar (Libby), four sisters; Ann Lang, Marilyn Schaad, Janet Welch (Terry), and Diane Dyar, sister-in-law Margaret Dyar, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Thieman whom she married on May 12, 1962, her brother; Bernard Dyar, and her brother-in-law Edward Lang.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Dale Tornes officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John The Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOMES. Memorial donation may be made to the St. John’s School Foundation or St. John the Baptist Catholic church.
