It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norman Allen Braxton, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the age of 90. Norman was born on Monday, April 6, 1936, in Steelton, Pennsylvania, and resided in Vincent, Ohio, where he was cherished by his family and community.
A graduate of high school, Norman was a talented athlete, playing as a quarterback in junior high school and participating in basketball, volleyball, and football. His passion for sports was matched by his love for shooting pool and his devotion to teaching and preaching the Word of God.
Norman dedicated his professional life to serving and protecting others as a Deputy Sheriff with the Prince Georges County Sheriff's Office in Maryland. His commitment to his work and community was unwavering, and he was respected by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering faith. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by his children: Victor Eugene Braxton (Pamela), Dennis Allen Braxton (Christi), and Toni Lynn Martin-Braxton (Leonard Harrison Jr.). He was a proud grandfather to Darnell (and wife Quinette), Trisha, Kimberly, and Stephanie (Jake Buckley) Braxton, Alexander, Christopher, and Elliot Braxton, and Christopher (Lakesha), Daniel, and Brandon Martin. His joy extended to his great-grandchildren, Jacquez, Jalani, Dejah, and Damineka, his bonus granddaughter, Nina; and his great-great-granddaughters, Sage and Senna Braxton. Norman was also lovingly cared for by his aides, Anna Berger, Rachel Hayton, Dick Tracey, and Deanna Green.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Braxton and Alma Anna Braxton-Robinson, his brothers Ronald, Herbert, and Harold Braxton, and his grandson.
