Patricia Ann McKenna Erb, 59, of 521 Victoria Ave., Williamstown, died at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg. She was born in Marietta on March 17, 1949 to Harold and Loleta McGuire McKenna. Patricia was a 1967 graduate of Williamstown High School and had attended WV University for two years. She was a reporter for The Marietta Times from 1978 until 1981 and then did freelance writing for two years. Following her freelance writing, she worked for the City of Williamstown until the present time as a police clerk and dispatcher, the mayor's administrative assistant, and the municipal court clerk. She enjoyed writing, was a published author and liked to sew, quilt, and collect teady bears and Fenton art glass. She is survived by her husband, Ronald A. Erb, whom she married in November of 1978, two sons, Thomas Patrick Erb (Jennifer) of Columbus, Ohio and Michael Brady Erb (Stacy) of Williamstown; two grandsons, Joshua Dale and Connor Alan Erb; her mother-in-law, Betty V. Erb of Williamstown; her brother-in-law, Steven D. Erb of Williamstown; two sisters-in-law, Linda D. Bayles (Dennis) of Waverly, WV and Lisa D. Stalnaker (Steve) of Daytona Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Homes. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Patricia's memory may be made to a local humane society of the donor's choice.
