Williamstown

Patricia Ann (Moore) Thrash-Ward, 90, of The Fields in Williamstown, WV, formerly a 50-year resident of Reno, Ohio passed from her earthly life at The Arbors of Marietta on Thursday, October 23, 2025. She was born on August 23, 1935 in Dutchman, WV to Charles T. (Pete) Moore and Winifrede (Frazier) Moore.

Growing up on a farm near Cisco, WV with four brothers and a sister, Pat was a proud 1953 graduate of Cairo High School. She married her high school sweetheart and fellow trombone player, Charles Robert Thrash, a week after her graduation on June 7, 1953. They shared nearly 55 years together until Charlie's death in 2008. Pat was a homemaker most of her life, but she had worked at Bailey Wholesale Grocery and Kroger as a bookkeeper, as well as the Betty Lee Shoppe. Throughout her life, Pat was involved in her community. She was a member of Sandhill Methodist Church, helping as a Sunday School teacher, long-time pianist, choir member and Past President of the United Methodist Women. For many years she was a member of the Pioneer Ladies Civitan Club, having held most offices, including President and Past-Governor of the Ohio District of Civitan International. She also sang in the Sweet Adelines Barbershop Chorus, served on the Betsey Mills board, was a foster parent for the Marietta College softball team, a sustaining member of the Marietta Welfare League, and a Red Cross volunteer at Marietta Memorial Hospital for 38 years.

Pat helped all her family to Love the Lord and to serve others She is survived by her two children: James Thrash (Jeryl) and Cindy Hoy; three grandchildren: Joel Thrash (Carrie Beth), Joshua Thrash (Carrie Laine) and Amanda Maio (Chris); five great-grandchildren: Grady and Coryn Thrash, Lindley and Naomi Thrash, and Charlee Maio; a bonus great-grandchild: Harper Maio. She loved nothing more than being with her family, cherishing holiday gatherings and family reunions. She was her family's biggest fan and supported all their activities. Aunt Pat had over 20 nieces and nephews to also love, including her “special kiddos” Craig Mullen and Jill Bumgarner.

Pat is also survived by James Ward, who she married in 2017, and his two daughters, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Jim has been a devoted companion throughout their married years.

Seldom did Pat turn down an opportunity to take a trip, whether it was a week at Disney World, another leisurely cruise or a day drive to Ritchie County. She was a world-wide traveler having visited all fifty states and countries on six continents.

In addition to her first husband and parents, Pat was preceded in death by her bothers Harold, Robert, John and Jim Moore; and her beloved sister Darlene Mullen.
