Paul Forrest Smith

Paul Forrest Smith, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on June 3, 1953, in Potsdam, NY, Paul was a cherished resident of Marietta, OH, where he spent his later years surrounded by family and friends.

In keeping with Paul's wishes, he has been cremated, and there will be no formal services. His family honors his decision and invites those who knew him to remember him in their own special way.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Debra M. Smith, and his two sons, Jeffrey Smith and Marc Smith (Courtney). He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Brady Smith (Kyleigh), Harper Smith, and Sawyer Smith, and a great-grandfather to Dahlia. Paul is also survived by his brothers, Andrew Smith (Peggy) and Steven Smith (Colleen), and his sister, Suzanne Sharlow. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Benjamin Smith and Alice Frances Smith, as well as his sisters, Barbara, Linda, and Karen.

Paul was a dedicated salesman in the Millwork Department at Lowes, where he worked until his retirement. He was a proud alumnus of the University of Phoenix, where he furthered his education and honed his skills.

Outside of work, Paul had a passion for golf and carpentry. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, sharing his love for woodworking and creating cherished memories with them.
