Roger Dean Augenstein, a beloved resident of Lowell, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, just days shy of his 64th birthday, following a short battle with cancer. Born on August 30th, 1961, in Marietta, Ohio, Roger was a cherished member of the community and a devoted family man.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Sue Augenstein, with whom he shared a beautiful life since their marriage on August 22, 2008, following 19 wonderful years together. He is also survived by his four siblings: Charles Augenstein, Ray Augenstein and his wife Sheri, Karen Bevaque, and Rose Barnes and her husband Butch. Roger was a dear brother-in-law to Dan Voshel and a special, dedicated friend to Fred Schultheis. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their uncle.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Clyde Augenstein and Mary Kay Augenstein, as well as his brother-in-law, Jeff Voshel.
A proud graduate of Fort Frye High School, Roger dedicated his professional life as a laborer for Adams Township. Before working for the township, he worked 26 years at Hendershot's Marathon. Outside of work, he was passionate about drag racing and hunting, pursuits that brought him joy and camaraderie.
