Thomas Lee Shank II

Thomas Lee Shank II of Lowell, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on August 24, 2025 after a long illness. He was 65. Tom was born on January 31, 1960 at Anderson Air Force Base in California and moved to Lowell with his parents when he was a year old.

He graduated from Fort Frye high school in 1978. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1982 from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in King’s Point, New York. During his college years he had the opportunity to travel to many different countries throughout the world. Tom had a long career in the construction industry. He was an amazing artist and took pride in his craftsmanship. After retirement he spent his time creating “wish boxes” out of various woods and marble.

Tom is survived by his loving partner, Cindy Snyder, son, TJ Fletcher, his sister, DeAnna Frye (Dean), brother Brett Shank, brother-in-law Tom Baldwin, brother-in-law Doug Merriman as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lee Shank, his mother Jean Shank and sisters Lisa Merriman and Krista Baldwin.

A graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, Ohio will be held on September 19, 2025 at 3:00 pm. A celebration of life will take place on September 19, 2025 from 4-6 pm at the LOWELL CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOMES. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s name may be made to the Lowell Adams Volunteer Fire department or the Buell Island Fund.
