Walter Edward Klinger, 73, of Waterford, Ohio, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at his home. He was born on November 8, 1938 in Marietta, to Walter and Alice Kern Klinger. Walter was a Lowell High School graduate and was in the Army Reserves from February 1960 until August of 1965. He retired from BF Goodrich/JRF International in March of 2001, after 44 years of service, and was also a lifelong farmer. Walter was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Churchtown, the Holy Name Society, and the American Legion Post 750 in Lowell. He enjoyed farming with his John Deere equipment and loved watching his grandchildren grow up. He never missed a ball game, band event, or scholastic achievement, they were his greatest joy. He is survived by his wife, Donna Rinard Klinger; one daughter, Anita Horner (Alan) of New Concord, Ohio; two sons, Steven Klinger (Rachel) of Waterford, and Stacy Klinger, of Waterford; seven grandchildren, Michelle and Mitchell Horner, and Matthew, Emily, Sarah, Isaac and Lydia Klinger; two sisters, Mary Canterbury (Rick) of Waterford, and Barbara Stevens (Dave) of Beverly, Ohio; one brother, Bernard Klinger (Sue) of Lowell, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Churchtown, with The Reverends Virgil Reischman and Charles Klinger con-celebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with full military honors. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service being held at 6 p.m. Donations may be made to the Fort Frye Athletic Boosters, St. John's School, Marietta Hospice, or the charity of donors choice.
